Defibrillator

Cotton village has a defibrillator located at the Village Hall on Blacksmiths Road to the left of the main doors.

The equipment is designed for anyone to use in a life-threatening emergency i.e., when someone has a cardiac arrest, has stopped breathing and is being kept alive by CPR. The aim is to re-start or restore the heart to a normal beat. The equipment can easily be removed by opening the cabinet door and activated at the location of the victim, and there are step-by-step verbal instructions for anyone using it to follow.

The equipment is regularly checked. If by any chance it is not working or the victim is some distance from Cotton Village Hall, there are four defibrillators in Bacton, the nearest to Cotton being in a telephone box at the junction of Broad Road (B1113) and Pound Hill.
